The Verzesh
The Verzesh are a complex and divided species, broadly divisible into two dominant groups: the so-called extremists (often referred to as fanatics) and the refugees. Their home planet, Fasu, is currently under Xanu control. According to official history, a group of Verzesh made contact with the Xanu to seek help in their struggle against internal extremist factions threatening the stability of Fasu. This cooperation would eventually lead to Xanu intervention and military presence on the planet. The true sequence of events, however, remains a matter of debate. Many Verzesh refugees living on Xinesh do not appear to be there entirely of their own free will. Among a portion of them, there is a deeply rooted distrust and sometimes open hatred toward the Xanu. Whether they were truly "rescued" or rather displaced under political pressure remains an unclear and sensitive issue within interspecies relations. Physically, the Verzesh are characterized by a pale, slender build and a high degree of biological variation. Mutations are relatively common within the species and can manifest in features such as rough skin textures, unusual dental formations or even asymmetrical anatomy, including individuals with one dominant eye. The Verzesh are also known for their advanced bio-adaptive techniques. Through experimental evolutionary processes and genetic manipulation, they are capable of creating hybrid forms — variants that are part Verzesh and part monstrous biological structures. These practices are often viewed with suspicion by other species and contribute to their reputation as an unpredictable and controversial people. Within the current geopolitical context, the Verzesh on Xinesh function as a tense minority: officially allies, but culturally and historically burdened by conflict, loss of their home world and internal division.
